IT Support Engineer Vacancy – March 2024

We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their growing team and help shape the next phase our business. This role would suit someone who wants to build on the experience they have gained in a help desk environment. Supporting over 200 customers across Scotland, mainly throughout Ayrshire and Glasgow, the company specialises not only in keeping business technology working but in helping their customers to get more from their IT set-up. The role will be based at our office in Dundonald.

Due to continuing expansion we require someone who can hit the ground running with a few years previous experience in an IT Support environment, and capable of handling typical calls regarding Microsoft 365, Windows desktop, server or network support.

The ideal person will have a proactive and flexible approach to work, be a strong team player, and will have a passion for IT. You will be keen to develop your own skills and above all deliver great solutions and superb service to our Customers. This is a diverse role with plenty of scope to develop and grow with the company.

 

The Role

  • Resolving support calls and emails in a professional manner in line with service level agreements
  • Updating support and documentation systems with ticket details
  • Performing remote maintenance and keeping logs updated
  • Setting up new devices and systems
  • Based at our office in Dundonald though some home working may be required
  • Staggered 8-hour shifts between 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday
  • Participate in on call and out of hours rota (typically there is a tiny amount of out of hours work)

 

The person

  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Desktops; Microsoft 365 products; VoIP; Networking, VPN and Remote Access systems
  • Experience of IT support in a multi-customer MSP environment
  • Ability to demonstrate your passion and enthusiasm for Technical support.
  • Able to work under pressure and be able to use your initiative as well as working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to confidently talk customers through issues on the phone
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise multiple support cases
  • Confident to work alone at a customer site

 

Skills and Product Experience Required

Windows 10/11 day to day end user support
Microsoft 365 products
Networking, VPN and Remote Access systems

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in an IT Support environment, such as an MSP

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Authorised to work in UK – we will not sponsor visas.

Salary: £24,000.00-£29,000.00 per year DOE
